I have over 8 years of education, training, and industry experience. I am an attentive listener, and as an accomplished colorist, hair cutter, stylist, hair extension and make-up artist, I am passionate about helping my guest achieve their beauty goals. I attended the Redken Exchange in New York and am a certified Schwarzkopf colorist. I feel it is extremely important to keep up with the latest trends and seek educational opportunities regularly. Outside the salon I especially love travel, animals, fashion and spending time with family and friends.

I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t doing some type of hair whether it was dolls, friends or family. I attended Cosmetology School while living in Chicago over 20 years ago and have always pursued continuing education to stay up to date technically and creatively. Currently, I am working toward a certificate in advanced color training in Schwarzkopf color. My specialties include hair color, cuts, men’s services and thermal smoothing. I love reading and taking care of my blended family! My twelve year old daughter really helps to keep me current on fashion and all things trendy. I love my Cloud 9 family and after all this time I still get excited to come to work every day and create beautiful hair.

I began my career as a massage therapist in 2003 after attending The Alexandria School of Scientific Therapeutics and then in 2008 after graduating from Kaye’s Beauty College I developed my real passion as a hair designer! I excel in hair cutting, color, formal hair design, facials, nail services and massage (including Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy). Curly hair is often a challenge to cut and style but I love the art of curly hair design! In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends, family and pets. I am also very artistic and have designed hair accessories for weddings, fun and fashion!

I have been in the industry for over ten years and am passionate about creating a look that is wearable and fun. I am trained in hair extensions, specialize in working with finer hair textures, and love creating dimensional hair color. I have trained with top professionals in the industry such as the Vidal Sassoon cutting and coloring team, KMS California cutting team, Vivienne Mackinder, The Doves, and other top color companies. My goal with every client is to create an individualized cut and color that leaves them looking and feeling amazing.

I have always had a strong interest in creativity and beauty, and have been lucky enough to combine these two interests! In 2004 I graduated from Christine and Co. Education Center of Cosmetology. After completing my education, I went to work for a salon and day spa in West Lafayette where I was trained in a comprehensive apprenticeship program. I continued on with my education in Schwarzkopf color, technical cutting with Redken 5th Ave. in New York City, and also enjoyed advanced education from Aveda make-up and hair cutting classes. I then took an opportunity to move to Arizona and work for two years! Working in Arizona was a huge push for my career creatively as the salon I worked for was chosen for Phoenix Fashion Week and other local events. I now have moved back home to Indiana, and feel so lucky to be working at Cloud 9 Spa and Hair Design!

I am originally form Monticello,Indiana. My mother was a cosmetologist and after high school I decided to go to cosmetology school. I have a very nurturing nature and love to make people look and feel beautiful.. While at cosmetology school, I was exposed to some skin care services and decided to become a licensed esthetician, as well. I finished top of my class, and consider it a blessing to be able to work in an industry I love. I am attentive and thorough in all my services. In my spare time I love playing with my beautiful daughter, shopping and watching scary movies.

In the spring of 2009 I graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Elementary Education. After completing my student teaching in Chicago’s inner city schools, I decided to pursue my real passion in hair design and styling. Growing up, I was always styling friends and family’s hair, so I knew eventually that I would be attending cosmetology school. After spending 10 months at the Aveda Fredric’s Institute, I decided to call Cloud 9 home. I have completed Cloud 9’s rigorous apprenticeship program and have loved being on the floor ever since! In my career as a hair stylist I have attended classes in advanced Schwarzkopf color, Gage men’s cutting and every class offered at the 2011 Chicago Hair Show! I have a special passion for creative styling and updos and love the challenges of hair color. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and can’t get enough of my incredible dog Chance.

I graduated from the prestigious Alexandria School of Scientific Therapeutics, and am so excited about my career! Some of the massage methods I offer include: Swedish, Hot Stone, Pre -natal, chair and sports massage. After finishing my course study I went on to complete a very intense course on Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy. I love to help people feel good physically by promoting healthy living and offering maintenance massage programs. I have been married for 13 years to a wonderful man and we have a very active 5 year old son. Our cat and dog along with our son keep things very interesting at home. I enjoy reading and being with my church family. I feel blessed to be working in a place where I can do what I love every day.

Hello! My name is Ashley Thompson. I was born and raised in Arcadia, Indiana with my parents and two siblings. I graduated from Hamilton Heights in 2006 and then went on to be a dental assistant for 4 years. Lilli and Zachary are my beautiful niece and nephew that I absolutely adore and love spending time with. Recently I have decided to transition into the beauty industry which I have absolutely loved!! I hope to go to cosmetology school sometime within the year of 2012. Some of my hobbies are spending time outside whenever I can, enjoying time with family, and watching vintage black and white movies!

I fell in love with the salon industry six years ago when I became salon coordinator for a small salon in Valparaiso, IN. I chose to continue on with that love for beauty by attending Aveda Fredric’s Institute in the Fall of 2008. I enjoyed every minute of being in cosmetology school and it didn’t hurt that I found my soul mate there too! After graduating, I decided to specialize in hair color and pursued that for two years. I learned a great deal about hair color but realized that my passion was geared toward the business side of running a salon and spa. In October of 2011 I welcomed my son Orlando into the world and am now pregnant with our second child! I look forward to and enjoy coming to work every single day and seeing all of our wonderful and interesting clients!
